I have been fascinated with wood and trees all of my life. A good part of my life I have made a living working with wood of one kind or other. I also enjoy working wood as a hobby. I like to think of myself as a wood guy.

Since I have been turning wood I have been able to expose myself to many more different species of wood than ever before.  The process of converting raw, green timber into finished wood products is very exciting. The beauty of wood is just fantastic. I can't think of any other media that offers as much beauty and flexibility as wood. The amazing colors, textures and grain patterns are simply tremendous.

I enjoy natural edge pieces very much. I like to leave bark on a piece
whenever I can. I also have been leaning towards larger pieces lately. They are a little more challenging and they can be quite impressive and powerful.

Well I guess that's enough about me. I need to get back to turning.
